In previous years, the ministry utilized an SMS platform facilitated by mobile service providers to communicate examination results.

Nevertheless, the abolishment of the SMS system was declared by Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary for Education, last year. During his presentation to the National Assembly Education Committee on Basic Education, Belio mentioned the implementation of a more efficient system that would be cost-free.

What next after the KCSE Results 2023 release?

Getting your KCSE result is not just a milestone, but a stepping stone toward the kind of skills and career path you want to undertake. Students who have attained the cut-off points, to join universities under the government sponsorship program, are required to select the career they want to pursue through the Kenya Universities and College Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) portal ahead of the January, April, and September 2024 intake.

Those who didn’t manage to attain the cut-off point to universities can join TVET institutions such as the Inceptor Institute of Technology. They can pursue a certificate course that they are passionate about. Short Certificate Courses offer a dual opportunity for students: the chance to acquire valuable skills for immediate earning potential and the flexibility to advance their education within their specialized field, all the way to the Ph.D. level.
